#462: Cal Callahan – Insights On Breaking Free, Truth, Family, and Finding Purpose
Thu Apr 18 2024
I'm also finding, particularly with this solo cast I put out a couple weeks ago, I've had so many people reach out and friends of my friends I haven't talked to in a long time wanting to get on a call or reflect because of what, you know, kind of the resonance was for that podcast. And it it it feels good like, you know, as we talked about when you came on my podcast, I was in this 3 years of not really feeling like putting myself out there in that way. And now I'm ready for it because I have some grounding. I understand largely what I've been through the last 3 to 5 years and have been able to start to integrate that. And so when I put that journey out there in in men in particular find themselves in some part of that journey, I'm able to kinda hold space for them in a way that feels really good and really easy. Just like I'm sure, like, when when you're holding these retreats, people are like, how do you do it by self. It's like, I'd you just show up and you and you're just led by what is inspiring to you. Yeah. I love that. Exactly. Right. And you know, when I went on your podcast, I was like, woah. This is me. This is my dad and this is It wasn't it was no version of a pedestal at all. Mhmm. It was just like such a respect for your presence such a respect for how intentionally you were about every everything about the space and a reference for your ability to have an agenda and then just be like, me to answer the first question to be like, that's not at all what I'm doing here. And for you to be able to flow with it. Yeah. Yeah. And for that is such a rare gift that you have. And I just felt it in your eyes. Like, wow. This dude is so present, so caring, so low.

#461: Will Ahmed – How to Balance Ambition and Gratitude as an Entrepreneur
Tue Apr 16 2024
Young person's raised money. He's chasing his dream of building a company. He's got these employees. But I really I felt very off balance. I was extremely stressed out. I was really struggling with what it meant to be a CEO. I was drinking kind of an endless amount of caffeine, and it it was almost like coffee didn't work. And, I wasn't sleeping well. I was drinking too much alcohol. I, I just yeah. I was kinda spinning out of control. I mean, I don't know if outside in again people would have noticed I was spinning out of control, but I knew that I was not solid, and I wasn't on good footing. And I had a I had an experience of a panic attack even when, when I was, driving on the highway, and it was a pretty scary experience. I'd never had anything like that happen before. I would say most of my teenage years, early twenties, like, I wouldn't I wouldn't describe anxiety, as sort of, like, a big part of my life. I think I was I was generally comfortable. And and so the idea of, experiencing a panic attack, was really foreign to me. Anyway, I ended up in the emergency room and I ended up being shocked to find out that I was there because of a panic attack and stress and anxiety and so whatnot. So What was causing it? I think it was just a combination of all the factors that I just explained, which, you know, I didn't feel comfortable running this company. I was I'd really just put myself in a situation that, was kind of past where my maturity level was. And I also

#460: Tej Dosa, Elle Beecher, & Talia Jacqueline – Finish The Feeling, Circle Of Consciousness, Living In Love
Tue Apr 09 2024
We were told something very similar. In November Mhmm. Danny had a friend from New York come visit. Mhmm. And we were on a walk. And, you know, Danny and I are, like, jumping around, laughing at everything and nothing. Mhmm. All is well, baby. And All is Ted. Goes all is Ted. All is Ted. Your one liners are classic. I love them. So good. That's it. Good. They're so good. Indeed. Wow. Indeed. And then we gotta tell people a story about the holy all is well. Mhmm. Said that I had a holy moment. The holy all is welcome. Holy all is welcome. We're gonna have to get there. Incredible. But it reminds me of something that happened. We were walking on the trail just levitating of pure ecstasy Mhmm. And happiness. And his friend goes, I've smiled more on this trip to Austin than I have in probably the last 6 months to a year in New York City. Wow. And my face physically hurts from smiling. Yeah. And and it's it's worth noting. A lot of people can't hold that. Right? You've done the work to be able to know what that level of joy and love and peace feels like and to sit in it and to bask in it. Mhmm. But a lot of people feel that and they're like, get that away from me. Right. Mhmm. I don't need any of that. Mhmm. That's like, I'm scared. What is that? Are you is this a drug? Yeah. Right. No. This is just how we feel on the moment to moment basis. And if you can't hold that because you haven't done the work on yourself to hold that about releasing your own judgments, your own insecurities, your own insufficiencies about yourself, you don't have any idea. You're like, what is happening? It's too confusing. So Anything else? Oh, go ahead. Oh, I was just gonna say something I noticed when we were meditating is I heard some chatter outside, and they were like, what are they doing in there? They're they're so quiet in there.

#459: John Shahidi – Social Media Mogul On Getting Healthy, Trends, & Prioritizing Family
Tue Apr 02 2024
The four priorities in life really should be God first, health second, family third, work 4th, you know. And I think that should be the priorities, and I think it's kind of learned that that's what is my mind was always different. Mine was always god first. I've always been a god first person since since I was a kid, but then after that, you know, I was work first. Well, dude, I just wanted to say you look phenomenal. Oh. You know, like your your face looks so full. And so, like you've actually been losing weight and it's when you look at someone's face, you could see their consciousness. You could see how they've been spending their time. Yeah. And so, I just wanna start off by saying, like, I could tell you've been working or at least putting effort into building your body Mhmm. Which builds your mind and your soul. So No. It's been a it's been a work in progress, but We're recording? Yeah. Oh, we're good. Oh, yeah. I thought you were just complimenting me. I was. Yeah. Alright. Good. And I'd love to start also with a tweet. You know, you have my continued health goals for 2024. 1, daily goal of 10,000 steps. 2, sleep 8 hours every night. 3, 30 to 50 grams of protein in each meal. 4, drink electrolyte infused water daily. 5, 4 weight lifting sessions per week. 6, 10 minutes of morning sunlight. 7, dedicate 10 to 15 minutes daily to stretching. And 8, organic meats when available. And then it's like Yeah. I was missing a lot of things there. There are a few other things I wish I put on there. But, what else what else do you wish you put on? Well, there is you know, I think one thing that I've done recently is, a lot of sweating, you know, and I know there was weight lifting on that list, and steps, but I think sweating is also

#458: Dominic Schlueter – How Running & God Changed His Life
Tue Mar 26 2024
See an episode every other day now is if you want different, work different. So many people want different results, but they're not actually willing to do things differently. And there are so many good quotes about, like, you can't expect a different result if you're doing the same thing as everyone else. So if I want the top running podcast in the world, why would I follow the same pattern that everyone else is doing? Same thing for running, business, whatever, you know, the listener can apply it to. It's like, if you want different results, you have to do different things to get those different results. And I think so many people think that they can get the result that they see by doing that same amount of work, but everyone's different. And I think most of the time, you have to do things differently to see different. Yeah. And talk to me about the pedestal. Like, you talked about you're freaking out when you see the 1st runner that you see who comes on the podcast. Now he's on the Zoom meeting, and you're like, like, what is going on? That's the coolest thing. How has since running the podcast? How has that changed if at all of your perspective of people who were, quote, unquote, successful or who have been in the Olympics or you've seen on social like, what is that relationship been like for you? I think I've matured throughout the years, and I finally have some weight behind who I am in the sense of, like, I know factually that we've been the 15th top sports podcast in the US. So, like, why wouldn't I feel a sense of, oh, I am worthy to have a conversation with you versus 15 year old Dominic was like, I had done nothing. I wasn't good at interviewing, or having conversation. Like, I was good enough. But you know what I mean? It was it was, you know, there was more there that would actually make impostor syndrome more likely and to be felt more versus now where, yeah, I still feel it from time to time. I think if you don't, you're probably not pushing enough. But, also, at the same time, it's like I feel like there's some weight behind the things I've accomplished. But, yeah, from time to time, I mean, there's specific guests where it's like, oh, I I mean, Sawhill was an example where it's like it's like, oh, you're the freaking man. Like, this is crazy. But I think it's awesome.
